Mothers Day as a gathering is quite a profound celebration for faeries to endeavor - for some a remembering for others a reclaiming.

Connection to the Mother has been such a profound metaphysical shift for me persunally since moving to the desert. Especially in recent months in studying indigenous cultures and ideas of the sacred in its myriad of archetypes. The whole notion of matriarchal cultures tend to be more peaceful and non-competitive. More subj-subj or analogous. Furthermore persuns who exist in these cultures that honor the mother exhibit a unique understanding of relationships, cooporation and honoring creative impulses. Studying such things has opened up a new understanding within myself of my own notions of gender, nurturance, embodiment and community - a role often chosen by the two-spirit shamen of the tribe. It is a blessing to reside in a place (at least within myself) where such ideas are welcomed.

    angel food for thought,
